Young People’s Symphony Orchestra 88th Spring Concert – Saturday, May 17, 2025, 7:30 PM at First Church Berkeley (2345 Channing Way, Berkeley, CA 94704); program includes Mozart’s Magic Flute Overture, Wieniawski’s Violin Concerto No. 2 in D Minor, Op. 22 (Mvt. 3) featuring Carolyn Ren, and Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme featuring Donghu Kim, both winners of YPSO’s annual concerto competition, and Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances.

Founded in 1936 in Berkeley, CA, Young People’s Symphony Orchestra (YPSO) is the oldest youth orchestra in California, and the oldest independent youth orchestra in the nation. For nearly 85 years YPSO has developed the musical talents and skills of students in the San Francisco Bay Area. Today, many YPSO alumni are internationally distinguished musicians and prominent community members.
