SF/Arts Curator Insight

Yayoi Kusama: Infinite Love will be an expansive look at the pioneering Japanese artist’s whimsical take on life itself. One of the most iconic, internationally celebrated contemporary artists, Yayoi Kusama is making her Northern California solo debut with SFMoMA this fall. Kusama’s practice has connections to Pop Art, Minimalism, psychedelia and popular culture, and she continues to innovate over a career spanning more than 70 years. Her iconic infinity rooms will be featured in the exhibition, including her newest room, "Dreaming of Earth’s Sphericity, I Would Offer My Love" (2023), a psychedelic cosmos of dancing color and light. This glimpse into her expansive world of color and whimsy will surely be a highlight of Bay Area arts for some time.
