SF/Arts Curator Insight
Immersive and atmospheric don’t begin to describe the forceful, enveloping spell exerted by Hans Zimmer’s film scores, best exemplified, perhaps, by his thunderous, earth-moving music for “Dune,” which won him an Oscar. The prodigiously talented German composer has created soundtracks for over 150 movies such as “The Lion King.” “Gladiator.” and six projects with director Chris Nolan, from “Batman Begins” and “Inception” to “The Dark Knight. The SF Symphony performs selections live but, alas, no film clips.
