Stuart Robertson paints, collages, and assembles images from Black life, inspired by nostalgia for his birthplace of Jamaica and fantasies for the future of the African diaspora. His first West Coast solo show, Bend Di Young Tree features a deeply personal body of work that foregrounds Robertson's Jamaican identity, and focuses on the forces that shaped his early life. The opening reception takes place on Saturday, November 16, from 4pm to 6pm.
