SF/Arts Curator Insight

Berkeley native and composer Gabriella Smith takes the reins on this double feature, some months after Esa-Pekka Salonen and the SF Symphony premiered her eco-inspired orchestral work "Rewilding." In her role as curator, Smith will turn the Symphony’s club-like space into a multisensory habitat for sound. Expect a mélange of compositionally unique music inspired by Smith’s fondness for Bay Area sounds: including rustling branches, ribbiting frogs, shelled walnuts, and more.
