San Francisco Playhouse presents "Into the Woods" this holiday season. Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s beloved musical intertwines classic fairytales in an exploration of what happens after “happily ever after.” A baker and his wife set out to lift a witch’s curse, meeting Cinderella, Little Red, and Jack along the way. Directed by Susi Damilano with music direction by Dave Dobrusky and choreography by Nicole Helfer.

The Stephen Sondheim/James Lapine musical follows a baker (played in this SF Playhouse production by Phil Wong) and his wife as they venture out on a quest to break a witch’s curse. Along the way they meet familiar characters from Brothers Grimm fairytales: Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Cinderella and more. Bound to be especially delightful: Maureen McVerry as Milky White, Jack in the Beanstalk’s beloved cow. Susi Damilano directs.
