The powerful debut performance of bilingual music and storytelling from a choir of immigrant domestic workers and day laborers.
A one-night-only event of memory, performance, song, storytelling and community. The event marks the release of a CD album and printed community songbook. The songs were written collectively from 2018-2022 by domestic workers and day laborers from the Mission.
In 2018, artist disruptor and cultural worker Andreína Maldonado of BienStar Consulting, in partnership with Dance Mission Theater and La Colectiva de Mujeres de San Francisco, started a unique arts and wellness program for immigrant women domestic workers called Cuerpos Sanos, Mentes Sanas or Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds (formally called Baile Colectivo).
