Steeped in a revered tradition that dates to the court of Louis XIV, the stunning dancers of the Paris Opera Ballet meet the visceral and emotive choreography of UK-based Hofesh Shechter—“London’s most vital choreographer” (Time Out London)—in the North American premiere of a new full-length work. Shechter is noted for his vivid, urgent cinematic tableaus and Red Carpet was the talk of the town in Paris this past summer, praised for its brilliant dancing, captivating staging, and unique costume collaboration with CHANEL. Envisioned especially for this exquisite French company, it will be performed to live music.

Every year, Cal Performances is known for curating a stunning collection of performance events, and this year’s dance season is no exception.
