Mill Valley Film Festival 2023
About
The Mill Valley Film Festival is an annual film festival organized by the California Film Institute. It welcomes more than 200 filmmakers, representing more than 50 countries, each year
SF/Arts Curator Insight
A draw as much for its thoughtful mix of prestige art house fare, world cinema and indies as its laid-back, small town atmosphere, Mill Valley has always been hospitable to local filmmakers like new media provocateur, Lynn Hershman Leeson, whose shorts quartet, “Cyborgian Rhapsody” will be screened. Finn Taylor’s “Avenue of the Giants” relates the story of a Marin County toy store owner (Stephen Lang), who escaped Auschwitz-Birkenau, at age 12, and kept his traumatic past secret for 60 years.
