This centennial series devoted to the suave, charismatic and undeniably sexy Italian leading man is enough to make one shout “Viva Marcello!” Beloved by moviegoers and top flight directors from Antonioni (“La notte” with Jeanne Moreau) and De Sica (“Marriage Italian Style,” opposite a fiery Sophia Loren) to Visconti (“White Nights”), his career breakthrough came with two masterpieces directed by Fellini: “Ls Dolce Vita,” and this writer’s all-time favorite, “8 1/2,” which rocketed him to international stardom. All these and more will be screened during this celebration.
