Isaiah draws musical inspiration from legendary saxophonists such as John Coltrane, Roscoe Mitchell, Wayne Shorter, and Gene Ammons. His collaborative works span performances with various artists, including Chance The Rapper, Makaya McCraven, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The Tenderloin’s Black Cat Jazz and Supper Club is known for showcasing musicians in multi-day residencies, providing an opportunity for wider audiences to discover new artists and for bands to creatively explore and improvise live on stage. After a successful debut last year at the club, saxophonist Isaiah Collier and his quartet The Chosen Few return to the venue’s stage for eight shows over four nights.
