Green Film Festival of San Francisco
About
Ten days of environmental themed films from around the world and around The Bay. With this festival SF IndieFest aims to celebrate the blue marble we all live on and also confront the challenges we face in maintaining a livable planet. Most of us don’t want to up and move to Mars just yet, so this is a 10 day presentation of films to inspire us all to help save our asses.
SF/Arts Curator Insight
Happily, news of the demise of this local favorite was premature. Resurrected under the auspices of IndieFest, it arrives with a slate of films whose environmental subject matter couldn’t be more timely or pressing. “Scrap” visits distant places and the people who scavenge, collect and recycle what the world discards, while “Il Buco aka The Hole” reconstructs the trek of avid young speleologists who, in 1961, discovered the deepest cave in Europe, 700 meters below earth’s surface.
