About
GOLEM: A Call to Action is a digital exhibition in three parts by Los Angeles–based artist Julie Weitz, comprising three video artworks—Golem v. GOLEM: A Call to Action is a digital exhibition in three parts by Julie Weitz. The exhibition draws upon the legend of the golem to highlight the need for urgent climate action and policy. Weitz, who is inspired by her ancestral Ashkenazi heritage, infused the project with Jewish mythology.
In Weitz’s words, “The project seeks to activate the museum as a platform for an ethically-minded, experimental performance and video art, asserting a California-specific imperative that speaks to broad and pressing global issues.”
