SF/Arts Curator Insight
This year’s lineup kicks off with a block party bash on Castro Street and a screening of “Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero.” Carlos Lopez Estrada and Zac Manuel spent over two months attempting to capture-- like lightening in a bottle--the star power of the electrifying Black queer sensation, an outsize award-winning rapper and songwriter, on his 2022/2023 U.S tour. Closer to home, “Sally” profiles outspoken professor and fantasy author Sally Gearhart, pivotal leader of the lesbian feminist movement of the 1970s and 80s.
