Ezra Furman is one of those rare artists you listened to in 2013 that still holds up. After a successful gig soundtracking hit show “Sex Education,” the Chicago native and trans mom is back with her tenth album “Goodbye Small Head,” a sample-heavy prog-rock record about losing control, surviving it all, and staying alive anyway. Following a year-long break from touring due to motherhood, transphobia, and pandemic exhaustion, Furman is back with her universally lauded live show, blending punk, art pop, and folk into queer indie rock anthems that give you a hug when you need it.
