SF/Arts Curator Insight
What’s an eager-to-fit-in Japanese-American high school girl to do when she discovers her family was involved in creating the dread and apparently addictive additive MSG? In Keiko Green’s whimsical, time-traveling comedy, awkward Ami is motivated to confront that dilemma when a super-cool new student from Japan arrives. Jesca Prudencio, who directed the 2023 world premiere at San Diego’s Old Globe, directs the play here for SF Playhouse.
