Ethnic Dance Festival
About
The San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival returns this fall in a brand new format: film.
After the pandemic forced us to cancel the 2020 Festival, we simply could not let another year pass without a celebration of the Bay Area’s extraordinary cultural dance community. Our 2021 Festival features a full-length film of inspiring dance, music, and spoken word from around the world, with a lineup of masterful cultural practitioners who call the Bay Area home.
This is not simply a recording of stage performances; we’re taking you to unique settings to experience the joy of the Festival in a new way.
And you’ll get to choose how to view our film, either in-person or online.
SF/Arts Curator Insight
Instead of canceling as it did last year, World Arts West is pivoting and presenting its esteemed festival of vibrant dance, spoken word, and music on film, in a fresh format for either live streaming or viewing in a live setting. Local cultural troupes from around the globe, including South India's Bharatanatyam, will be seen performing in unique settings, for a delightful new way to appreciate this colorful perennial Bay Area favorite.
