SF/Arts Curator Insight
Flyaway Productions returns to the streets of San Francisco with a new world premiere and its signature blend of aerial choreography and urgent narrative messaging! For “Down on the Corner,” Artistic Director Jo Kreiter and collaborators look to a space of transgender protest and queer power: the Tenderloin’s Compton Cafeteria on Taylor Street. While mining its tremendous historical impact, “Down on the Corner” also seeks to understand that place in the context of the present day. All showings are free to the public.
