Borrowed: An Immersive Performance Experience
About
Borrowed is a site-specific dance performance and immersive experience that invites audiences to reflect on the deep connections between environmental exploitation and the displacement of Black communities. This version draws direct parallels between the ongoing climate crisis and the historical and current experiences of Black San Franciscans, especially around themes of gentrification, systemic failure, and cultural erasure.

Founded in 1980, Zaccho Dance Theatre is an innovative force in both the world of dance and our home community of Bayview Hunters Point, San Francisco’s African American Arts & Cultural District. Zaccho Dance Theatre creates and presents performance work that investigates dance as it relates to place.
