The third annual Black Women's Roots Festival celebrates powerful, pioneering Black women of blues, jazz, country and roots music. Showcasing a dynamic lineup of legendary artists, renowned performers, and emerging talent, this intergenerational, interdisciplinary program features the best vocalists, instrumentalists, and poets of roots music that you'll find anywhere in the world! Freight & Salvage celebrates Black female pioneers of blues, jazz, country, and roots music with The Dynamic Miss Faye Carol leading a talented multi-generational lineup of vocalists, instrumentalists, and poets from jazz artist Mary Stallings, country vocalist Miko Marks, and Kito Kamill, pianist and songwriter, to artist/activist Alecia Harger, who is documenting the history and present of Black art and activism in the Bay Area at UC Berkeley.
