Beyond the Visible: Hilma af Klint
About
Swedish painter Hilma af Klint (1862–1944) created a remarkable body of artwork that only gained international recognition following a Guggenheim Museum exhibition in 2018–19. Beyond the Visible tells the story of this artist who began creating radically abstract paintings in 1906—before Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Kazimir Malevich, and Piet Mondrian—and yet has never been part of the official history of abstraction.
