SF/Arts Curator Insight
The American Book Award-winning author of “Stealing Buddha’s Dinner” and the novels “Short Girls” and “Pioneer Girl”, Beth Nguyen returns to San Francisco to read from and discuss her new memoir “Owner of a Lonely Heart.” When Beth was 8 months old, she and her family – except her mother – fled Saigon for America. She did not meet her mother again until she was 19 years old and, as adults, the two have spent less than 24 hours together.
