Bay Area Now 9 (BAN9) at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts
About
Over the years, YBCA has become a unique bridge between local andnational artists and organizations, showcasing the forward-leaning, boundary-pressing values for which San Francisco and the Bay Area are widely known.
The organization's 30th Anniversary celebrations will begin on October 6th with the
opening of Bay Area Now 9 (BAN9), a triennial multidisciplinary exhibition featuring exceptional
artists from across the Bay Area's nine counties. BAN9 will bring together 30 artists from a
broad range of creative practices including visual art, dance, performance, music, film, sound,
new media, technology, fashion, poetry, and social practice.

SF/Arts Curator Insight
The much-anticipated Bay Area Now 9 at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts displays the diversity of artistic practices in the Bay Area. The sheer scale and breadth of the works holds something for everyone. Artists who especially stick out include Leila Weefur, Heesoo Kwon, and Golbanou Moghaddas. Make time for this exhibition, each section is a world of its own. The Bay Area has a lot to be excited about now and in the future.
