SF/Arts Curator Insight

Every year, the New Museum Los Gatos (NUMU) invites Santa Clara County high school students to create an original work of art following a theme selected by the NUMU Teen Council. This year, the theme is In Transition, a theme requesting each submitting student create a work that explores the complexities of coming of age and meeting the challenge of ongoing metamorphosis. From Palo Alto to Gilroy, the included students can show their widely varying works in an institution and gain real-world experience participating in a juried museum exhibition. More than experiencing art, attending this exhibition means cultivating a new generation of Bay Area artists.
