Alice Beasley: Having Her Say; Quilting with Social Commentary
About
For thirty years, Oakland quilter Alice Beasley has used her figurative appliqué quilts to speak out on issues and events.
Join us for the premiere of a video visit to Alice’s studio; highlighting her process and inspirations, including her family history and expressions of the Black Experience in the United States.
Following the film, the artist and fiber artist Mirka Knaster will have an in-depth discussion of Alice’s work.
