Adam Shulman Plays A Charlie Brown Christmas
About
The holiday performances by pianist Adam Shulman celebrating Bay Area jazz legend Vince Guaraldi and his soundtrack to Charles Schulz’s 1965 holiday classic, A Charlie Brown Christmas, are an SFJAZZ tradition. Among the most beloved holiday albums of all time, A Charlie Brown Christmas was voted into the GRAMMY Hall of Fame and was added to the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry’s list of “culturally, historically, or aesthetically important” American recordings.
SF/Arts Curator Insight
Last December at SFJAZZ, the fine San Francisco pianist and bandleader Adam Shulman performed his homage to the late San Francisco pianist Vince Guaraldi’s classic 1965 soundtrack to A Charlie Brown Christmas. A live recording of Shulman’s pleasing performance with bassist John Wiitala and drummer James Gallagher will stream Christmas Eve as part of SFJAZZ’s Fridays at Five online series.
