6th Green Film Festival of San Francisco
About
With this festival we aim to celebrate the blue marble we all live on and also confront the challenges we face in maintaining a livable planet. Most of us don’t want to up and move to Mars just yet, so we’re looking for films that inspire us all to help save our planet.
SF/Arts Curator Insight
This homegrown fest explores a variety of environmental films, from docs to adventure sagas and narrative fiction. “The Shepherd & the Bear” bears witness, pardon the pun, to conflicts that ensue when brown bears are reintroduced into a community in the French Pyrenees. Set in the 1900s Portland and based on a true story, Nigerian-American producer/director Ime N. Etuk’s “Outdoor School” looks at the joys and profound impact of experiential learning in the wild on a homeless young black boy.
