Burma Spring Benefit Film Festival
About
The Burma Spring Benefit Film Festival presents a curated program of over 30 films from or about Myanmar (Burma), plus daily live talks featuring prominent activists and observers. Net proceeds from this festival will go to grassroots humanitarian organizations working in Myanmar in support of the non-violent democracy movement.
SF/Arts Curator Insight
Dozens of local filmmakers and artists have joined forces to create this festival of over 30 films and daily forums in response to the humanitarian crisis sparked by the recent military coup in Burma. “We hope to reach many people with real information about what’s happening right now in my country,” teacher/artist Kenneth Wong, one of the organizers, said. “…Attendees will get a wide range of views, both historic and current…and an understanding of a complex country.”
