Wherever there Is A Fight

The Green Arcade

Ten years ago, Elaine Elison and Stan Yogi published the California Book Award-winning "Wherever There's A Fight: How Runaway Slaves, Suffragists, Immigrants, Strikers, and Poets Shaped Civil Liberties in California." Published by Heydey Books, which just released a 10th-anniversary edition, the book spans from the gold rush to the post-9/11 era, a history that is particularly relevant to the present moment.
