Roxanne Gray, Stephanie Unger & Caroline Liviakis

SAFEhouse Arts

Drawing upon concepts from math, especially fractals, to develop the material, Stephanie Unger & Artists explore family relationships. Geometric shapes are used to explore how we are emotionally shaped; genetic patterns are shown through mathematical patterns. Roxanne Gray presents "Pair", an exploration of the courtship rituals of animals, and the art of finding a mate. And presenting a new work by Caroline Liviakis.

This is what SF/Arts curator Heather Desaulniers has to say about Roxanne Gray, Stephanie Unger & Caroline Liviakis :

SAFEhouse Arts offers five RAW (resident artist workshop) programs this month. First up: Roxanne Gray’s “Pair,” which examines the search for a partner; Stephanie Unger’s “Self-similar, similar self,” a consideration of familial connections through mathematical sequencing; and Caroline Liviakis’ “i know why the caged bird dies,” which traverses the human journey of expectation and realization.
