So You Want to Talk About Race

California Institute of Integral Studies

In her new book, So You Want to Talk About Race, Ijeoma Oluo offers a contemporary, accessible take on the racial landscape in America. She addresses head-on such issues as privilege, police brutality, intersectionality, micro-aggressions, the Black Lives Matter movement, and the "N" word.

This is what SF/Arts curator Evan Karp had to say about So You Want to Talk About Race :

The California Institute of Integral Studies presents Ijeoma Oluo (“The Badass Feminist Coloring Book”) discussing her new book “So You Want to Talk About Race,” a contemporary take on the racial landscape in America. In 2015, Oluo was named one of the most influential people in Seattle. She started writing after the murder of Trayvon Martin, who was the same age as her son at the time of his death.
