Roxane Gay

Roxane Gay discusses her new memoir Hunger. The event will conclude with a Q&A and signing. Additional books will be available for purchase.

This is what SF/Arts curator Evan Karp had to say about Roxane Gay :

Booksmith presents Roxane Gay for her memoir “Hunger,” held offsite at the African American Art & Culture Complex. Deeply personal, “Hunger” explores Gay’s anxieties over food and bodies and what they reveal about our shared obsessions with appearance and health. “I was trapped in my body, one that I barely recognized or understood,” Gay writes, “but at least I was safe.” Each ticket includes a copy of her book.
