Laleh Khadivi

City Lights Bookstore

Laleh Khadivi in conversation with Micheline Aharonian Marcom celebrating the release of A Good Country By Laleh Khadivi from Bloomsbury Publishing. A timely novel about the radicalization of a Muslim teen in California--about where identity truly lies, and how we find it.

This is what SF/Arts curator Evan Karp had to say about Laleh Khadivi :

Laleh Khadivi (“The Age of Orphans”) celebrates the launch of her second novel, “A Good Country,” which follows a straight-A 14-year-old living in California after he first smokes weed. When he falls out with his new surfer friends he meets another group who share his background, and in less than a year is headed, with his girlfriend, to Syria to join a Muslim nation rising after the civil war.
