The Bay Area Book Festival returns to downtown Berkeley with a focus on "literary activism." The two-day,
indoor/outdoor Festival will welcome 200 local, national, and international authors and speakers in 100 literary sessions (panels, interviews, keynotes and performances) in auditoriums and theaters throughout downtown, and will emphasize writers and books that promote social justice, sanctuary, inclusion, freedom of expression and environmental sustainability. The Bay Area Book Festival returns for the third year with two full days of events featuring over 200 writers, including 25 traveling from 13 countries, children’s programming, the return of the film and literature series, “Auteur, Author” with the Berkeley Art Museum Pacific Film Archive, and a street fair with some 200 lit-themed exhibitors and live outdoor performances.
