Social Justice

Saint Mary's College/Moraga

College Museum of Art. Social Justice, It Happens to One It Happens to All. Curated by Gutfreund Cornett Art, this international exhibition showcases 43 artists on the themes of social justice that examines timely subject matter being debated during this election year. Art is used as weapons in the fight for human rights to shine a light on the conditions of the working class, the disparities in global wealth, power inequities, education, shelter, access to food, water and health services, disabilities, immigration issues, criminal (in)justice, women's rights, the subjugation of ethnic groups and the challenges of gender and identity in the modern world.

This is what SF/Arts curator Christian L. Frock had to say about Social Justice :

This large-survey exhibition features works across various media, including ceramics, painting, sculpture and video, among others, from some 43 artists; there is also a slide show in the exhibition featuring images from more than 40 additional artists. The themes of the works run the wide range of social justice issues, from climate to wealth inequity to racial disparity.
