Conversations with Fox, Feather, and Ghost

CULT | Aimee Friberg Exhibitions

CULT | Aimee Friberg Exhibitions is pleased to present a solo exhibition of new drawings, sculpture and installation by San Francisco based artist Masako Miki. For Conversations with Fox, Feather and Ghost, Miki explores the intangible world of spirits and souls as portrayed in traditional Shinto & Buddhist cultures, integrating distinct traditions of communicating with the deceased and spirit entities of the natural world.

This is what SF/Arts curator Christian L. Frock has to say about Conversations with Fox, Feather, and Ghost :

Osaka, Japan-born, San Francisco-based artist Masako Miki’s exquisite large-scale installations explore the natural landscape and our relationship to animal life in painstaking detail. Featuring new drawings and works on paper, as well as hand-felted sculptures, the work in this exhibition explores traditional Shinto and Buddist cultural notions of transformation.
