Ten Japanese American Concentration Camps Exhibit

Triton Museum of Art/Santa Clara

Holding a mirror to present-day America, artist Renee Billingslea has created an exhibit that brings together her current photographs of the 10 concentration camp locations where Japanese-American citizens were contained, in the U.S., during WWII with historic War Relocation Authority photographs used at the time to normalize the incarceration of 120,000 innocent people, by hand stitching together contrasting images together with gold thread.
