Kansas-City based poet, essayist and 2018 Whiting Award-winner Anne Boyer ("Garments Against Women", "A Handbook of Disappointed Fate") visits Berkeley to read from her 9th book, "The Undying: Pain, Vulnerability, Mortality, Medicine, Art, Time, Dreams, Data, Exhaustion, Cancer, and Care", a genre-transcending chronicle of her diagnosis, at 41, of highly aggressive triple-negative breast cancer.
