Pink Velvet Dress with the Fur Collar

Interface Gallery/Oakland

An installation of new sculptures by Brooklyn-based Quay Quinn Wolf, reflecting on race and class divides through the lens of the artist's grandmother's relationship to 1950s cinema. The works consider his grandmother's aspiration to own and wear the luxury items she saw white Hollywood movie stars wear. Tongo Eisen-Martin has produced a new poem to accompany this exhibition and will offer a reading at the opening reception.
