Art Recovered from Shipwrecks

Asian Art Museum

Lost at Sea: Art Recovered from Shipwrecks offers visitors a chance to go behind the scenes and trace the pathways of these objects, from Vietnam to the ocean floor to San Francisco.

This is what SF/Arts curator Christian L. Frock has to say about Art Recovered from Shipwrecks :

Featuring objects recovered from two shipwrecks excavated in the 1990s – one at the bottom of the Arabian Sea for nearly 120 years, one off the coast of Vietnam for more than 500 years. These astonishing discoveries raise all kind of moral, ethical, and historical questions – maybe this, in part, is why they’ve been made to last this long. Simply fascinating, don’t miss it.
