Blow Up II: Inflatable Contemporary Art

Bedford Gallery, Lesher Center for the Arts

Bedford Gallery is excited to present a second exhibition of inflatable art. BLOW UP II explores the imaginative ways that artists use air as a tool for creating large-scale sculpture and includes imagery that is figurative and abstract. Accessible, yet rich with meaning, these pieces use perception of space to open a dialogue about pop culture and social norms. BLOW UP II will feature large-scale artworks by a roster of internationally renowned artists not before seen at the Bedford.

This is what SF/Arts curator Christian L. Frock has to say about Blow Up II: Inflatable Contemporary Art :

One of my favorite shows in recent years was the original version of “Blow Up” at the Bedford Art Gallery. It was enormous fun to see so many inflatable sculptures in one place. This year’s show promises just as much hot air, with recent works by Chromaforms, FriendsWithYou, Susan Lee-Chun and Matt Ritchie, among several others. GREAT for families. Don’t miss it.
