Skin: Living Armor, Evolving Identity

California Academy of Sciences

Skin: Living Armor, Evolving Identity invites guests to explore the beauty and sophistication of this organ through rarely seen scientific specimens, fascinating interactives, and thought-provoking investigations of a challenging subject that's far from black and white.

This is what SF/Arts curator Betsy Crabtree has to say about Skin: Living Armor, Evolving Identity :

The California Academy of Sciences looks far beneath the surface of skin to study this critical, and often overlooked, organ. Consider nature’s intentions in the hide of a black rhino, the fur of an otter, the skin of shark and the scales of a snake as you explore specimens from the Academy’s scientific collections. Admission starts at $24.95.
