Jacques D'Aniels. Nadia Doumiafeyva. Nina Enimenimynimova. These legendary (faux!) stars of the ballet--along with their full company of "danseurs extraordinaires"--return to Berkeley for more savagely funny satire married with seriously stunning ballet. The Trocks made their Berkeley debut in 1976 and in the intervening decades have helped bring gay culture and drag arts to the American mainstream.
A fan favorite at Cal Performances, Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo return to Berkeley for a two-performance weekend this spring. Performing ‘en travesti,’ the troupe brings an eclectic, comedic program of ballet classics including “Swan Lake’s” second Act variation and “Le Grand Pas de Quatre.”
