Oakland Ballet Company

Oakland Ballet presents Jangala, a family-friendly performance inspired by The Jungle Book, that fuses ballet with south Indian dance.

This is what SF/Arts curator Heather Desaulniers has to say about Jangala :

As we bid May farewell and say hello to June, Oakland Ballet and guests Nava Dance Theatre return to Laney College for an encore of “Jangala,” a full-length work based on Rudyard Kipling’s “The Jungle Book.” On Sunday, join the company for the 5th edition of East Bay DANCES with performances from Sarah Bush Dance Project, Savage Jazz Dance Company, Ballet Folklorico México Danza and more.
