Still Here

Museum of the African Diaspora

Still Here explores stories of migration, displacement, and survival in films by eight artists who represent a spectrum of the African Diaspora. The works in this exhibition use moving images as conduit to highlight the rituals and traditions that persevere and evolve, despite the oppressive historical ripple effects of colonialism and the Transatlantic Slave Trade.

This is what SF/Arts curator Christian L. Frock has to say about Still Here :

Still Here is a film series and exhibition in three parts presenting a rotating roster of artists and filmmakers whose work considers migration, displacement and survival. Previous iterations have highlighted works by MELO-X and Larry Achiampong; now rounding out the third and final part of the series, we are treated to works by Joiri Minaya and Third Horizon (aka Jason Fitzroy Jeffers).
