Davina Semo: Precarious Hardware

Jessica Silverman Gallery

The gallery presents a solo exhibition of rough and glossy sculptures by Davina Semo. Combining works from four diverse series, the show explores the triangular tension between nature, society and the self, as well as the philosophical troika of liberty, beauty and power.

This is what SF/Arts curator Christian L. Frock had to say about Davina Semo: Precarious Hardware :

Davina Semo’s work is often lost in images and their choice of materials demands a close look in person—so with that, you have no choice but to plan to do so, lest you miss out on a fascinating, stunningly sleek use of unconventional materials, including power-coated steel chain, polished cast bronze, cast acrylic, glitter, ball bearings, stainless steel and other hardware.
