Program: HANDEL Selection of arias from Biblical oratorios. Nicholas McGegan joins Jews & Music scholar Francesco Spagnolo in a dialogue about Handel's fascination with Jewish Biblical heroes. The program explores the richness of cultural dynamics, music, and the audiences at the time the music was composed. The audience will hear performances of some of Handel's most famous arias from the heroes and villains of Biblical oratorios including "Saul," "Esther," "Alexander Balus," and more.
