Winner of Best of the 2017 San Francisco Fringe Festival, "Nigga-Roo" is a multidisciplinary solo performance by Dazie Grego-Sykes that explores blackness as a social construct in a daring deconstruction of the African-American experience. The piece offers an unconventional and unapologetic commentary on racism and its impact on the Black individual.

In this solo performance piece, described as a “daring deconstruction of the African-American experience,” Dazié Grego-Sykes intentionally uses blackface as a metaphor, along with a host of modern theatrical approaches, to explore his theme. The multidisciplinary piece won Exit Theatre’s Best of the 2017 Fringe Festival award.
