This is what SF/Arts curator Evan Karp had to say about Tyehimba Jess :

New York-based Tyehimba Jess is the author of two books of poetry: “Leadbelly,” which won the 2014 National Poetry Series, and “Olio,” which won the 2017 Pulitzer Prize. The New York-based poet visits the Bay Area to read from his work as part of UC Berkeley’s Lunch Poems. The long-running series presents a rare chance to hear contemporary masters read for an extended period of time.
