Sculpture by Truong Tran

Peninsula Museum of Art

Truong Tran finds inspiration on the sidewalks of his neighborhood in San Francisco. He walks and picks up stuff: branches, findings from the local thrift stores, choice items left in boxes on sidewalks and more.

This is what SF/Arts curator Christian L. Frock had to say about Sculpture by Truong Tran :

Bay Area poet and educator Truong Tran has a regular practice of walking long distances to gather materials for his sculptures and collage, including branches, “choice items left in boxes on sidewalks” and local thrift store finds. He walks until his oversized messenger bag is filled with bounty and then returns home to glue, cut, build and weave new life into found objects.
